Description: Eric Troth - the Reflective Angler, provides the extra dimension of personalized attention that keeps clients returning faithfully for years. Among guides and outfitters across North America, Top Rated Surveys gave Eric its highest rating (4 stars) for satisfaction among his clients (one of only 11 in Montana).

I grew up on the Beaverhead and Big Hole Rivers fishing daily with my father, Al (inventor of the Elk Hair Caddis). I started guiding professionally on these rivers in 1981 as part of the family business and have enjoyed building long term relationships with our guests throughout the years. My particular specialty is teaching the finer points of the art of fly fishing. I have instructed dozens of classes and workshops over the years as well as a school for the Winston Rod Company, yet I especially like to work on the water individually with my clients, whether novice or advanced, to help bring out the best in their technique. I am fortunate to be able to do this in a place that is also known for trophy trout and fantastic scenery.

I cater primarily to singles and pairs (larger parties may be accommodated with sufficient advanced notice). Most clients spend several days with me making day long excursions to the waters that are fishing best at the time. Usually I base out of Dillon for the Beaverhead and Big Hole though my range also includes the Ruby, Madison, Gallatin, Yellowstone, Missouri and other waters. A typical day trip involves floating in a drift boat, pram or raft and lasts 8-10 hours. Floats can be custom tailored to allow for more wade fishing stops and time to enjoy the beautiful river scenery and wildlife. Starting and ending times are flexible to take advantage of the best fishing times as well as meet clients' travel needs. (People are free to make the accommodation arrangements of their choice - I can assist as needed).

Directions: Eric Troth - The Reflective Angler is located on the south side of Dillon, 1 block east of Atlantic Street and 1 block south of the University of Montana - Western Campus.
